Occupational Therapy
The school-based Occupational Therapist (OT) will provide assessment, treatment, and consultation services for students with educationally relevant needs in areas such as fine motor coordination, sensory processing, self-regulation, visual motor and visual perceptual skills, and other developmental motor functions. The OT will participate as a member of the IEP team to help determine eligibility and develop appropriate goals to support student progress in the school environment. The Occupational Therapist will conduct standardized and non-standardized assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement therapy sessions tailored to students’ IEP goals. Sessions may be delivered in individual or small group formats. The OT will document student progress, write reports, and collaborate closely with staff, parents, and other IEP team members.

The school-based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide direct therapy services for students with a range of developmental disabilities. The COTA will primarily deliver individualized and small group therapy sessions in accordance with treatment plans developed by the supervising OT. The COTA may also support assessments, assist in preparing reports, document student progress, and help with instructional strategies, including the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. The COTA will play a vital role in addressing fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, and coordination challenges that impact a student's participation and success in the school setting.
